Diagnosis of the child

Ewing's Sarcoma of the left lonny bone, T2N0M0, 2nd stage

Ewing’s sarcoma or Ewing sarcoma is a malignant small, round, blue cell tumor. It is a rare disease in which cancer cells are found in the bone or in soft tissue. The most common areas in which it occurs are the pelvis, the femur, the humerus, the ribs, the mandible and clavicle (collar bone). Since a common genetic locus is responsible for a large percentage of Ewing sarcoma and primitive neuroectodermal tumors, these are sometimes grouped together in a category known as the Ewing family of tumors.

Ewing’s sarcoma occurs most frequently in teenagers and young adults, with a male/female ratio of 1.6:1. Although usually classified as a bone tumor, Ewing’s sarcoma can have characteristics of both mesodermal and ectodermal origin, making it difficult to classify. James Ewing (1866–1943) first described the tumour, establishing that the disease was separate from lymphoma and other types of cancer known at that time.

History of the child

Nadia was very cheerful, independent and active girl. But now Nadia can’t lead an active lifestyle, take part in extra school activities, play basketball and dance. Within a year the girl had groin pains, and doctors diagnosed a sprain.

Groin pains didn’t pass and were too amplified. After numerous medical examinations doctors found a tumor in the left groin. The final diagnosis was extremely unfavourable: Ewing’s sarcoma of the left lonny bone of T2NOMO, 2 stage (basin bone cancer).

Nadia’s parents did a big work that their daughter could overcome this disease. They independently collected the sum of 50,763 EUR for the operation. It is necessary to collect only 8,230 EUR (for final payment of the operation and transportation costs) and Nadia will have a chance for healthy and happy life.

«Our doctors don’t conduct such operations on the removal of a tumor in this localization (for lack of experience). And without operation chances of recovery are slim», —Nadia’s mother shares.

Right now the main goal is to collect the missing sum for treatment and transportation costs and only together we can give Nadia hope for recovery!
