Cerebral palsy is the name for a group of lifelong conditions that affect movement and co-ordination, caused by a problem with the brain that occurs before, during or soon after birth. The symptoms of cerebral palsy aren’t usually obvious just after a baby is born. They normally become noticeable during the first two or three years of a child’s life.

13-year-old Egor has a wonderful, loving family: father, mother and 6-year-old sister Alina. The father is a serviceman therefore the family moved from native Volozhin to Minsk towards to new impressions quite recently. Only one thing saddens this picture: Egor has an expressed lag in mental development and spastic paralysis (3 degree)…

The diagnosis of a cerebral palsy was made to Egor as a result of difficult delivery. Since this began a long way of rehabilitation. Since 2004 to this day Egor takes numerous rehabilitation courses in public health institutions, but progress is very slow.

“”Unfortunately, Egor doesn’t go and doesn’t talk, but we don’t give up! Time, care, money — everything what is in our forces, we try to give to the son. We spend all our savings for rehabilitations, but it is very difficult to cope with all difficulties. We bring up two children, Egor and Alina, and our father is responsible for material aspect. In such situation it is very difficult to provide Egor even with such necessary thing as a wheelchair. The present wheelchair breaks systematic down and it is very necessary to support Egor’s life with a new wheelchair” — the boy’s parents share.”, —Egor’s parents share.
